Life is hard for graduates, the fear of the unknown, job interviews, writing a resume, etc. Life is even more difficult for seniors graduating this year that come from families suffering from poverty.
This year we want to help make a difference in 21 seniors’ lives. In Japan, seniors are required to have an all-black suit upon graduation. They will use this suit to take resume photos, do job interviews, and more. For many seniors and their families, this is a very stressful time due to a lack of money.
Okinawa's orphanages have 21 seniors graduating this year. We want to help 21 students this year with the cost of their suits. We want to be able to purchase them a new suit, shoes, dress shirt, and accessories needed for them to be able to wear to their interview. We want them to walk across the stage with one less worry this March, knowing that they have a suit ready for them to go to their job interview.
Would you like to help a student in need? We already were able to help one student whose mother had reached out to a local social welfare office and begged for help. The cost of the suit for this young man (suit, shoes, and all) was right under 30,000 yen (about 260.00 dollars).
We are looking for individuals to help a senior in need. You will be able to meet the seniors face to face and help them while they try on suits. You will be able to hear their story of struggle and their plans for the future. You will be able to pay for their suit with them at the store (we will have volunteer translators onsite to help translate for you and the student).
If you are unable to pay for the entire 30,000 or would like to just make a monetary donation for this. We would greatly appreciate your support and can guarantee 100% of your donation will go to that student's suit.
If you would like to make the entire donation of 30,000 yen but are unable to meet with the student for other circumstances. We can guarantee the student will personally write you a heartfelt letter of appreciation and we can take a photo of the student with the suit you helped purchase for them.
If you would like to make a donation, you can donate now via the following link. Thank you always for your kindness and support for those in need.
***If you have trouble donating via the website. Please email us at helpoki@yahoo.com. We can create an invoice via Paypal and send it to you directly. We just need your full name, email, and the total amount you would like to donate.
